#YouDontOwnHerseems like a simple message and yet, it isn't obvious to some.
The sense of ownership a few men still have over women leads to women being seen as property, subordinates, or accessories to men.
This entitlement sees some men control women's actions, friends, money, decisions, and bodies, often manifesting in violence and abuse when that control is challenged or ended.
In Australia, domestic violence and abuse of women is a national emergency. With over 250,000 reported incidents of domestic and sexual violence each year and women being murdered at the rate of more than one per week we can no longer afford to look away.
Our #YouDontOwnHer t-shirts are designed to challenge the culture of possession and control.
By supporting this message, you are starting a conversation and demanding a future where every woman is safe and autonomous.
This is about the message, not profit. Any profits from these shirts will be donated to domestic violence charities.
